Paul Wolansky Chairman. Mr. Wolansky is a founder of Cathay and has served as the Chief Executive Officer of New China and a Director of the Cathay Investment Fund since inception. Mr. Wolansky was formerly a Managing Director of Paloma Partners, a US$1.5 billion private investment firm. Mr. Wolansky received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College, a JD degree from Harvard Law School, and is admitted to practice law as a member of the bar of the State of New York.


Ling Liu is responsible for the execution of capital events. Prior to joining Cathay, Ms. Liu was a Vice President in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley, Hong Kong where she held lead responsibility for the IPOs of China Telecom, China Unicom and PICC. Previously, Ms. Liu was a management consultant at Deloitte & Touche Consulting and Andersen Consulting. Ms. Liu received a Bachelor of Science degree from The State University of New York and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. Ms. Liu speaks Mandarin and Shanghainese.


Anita Eng is responsible for financial and investor reporting as well as due diligence review and monitoring of existing portfolio companies. Previously, she served as Assistant Vice President of regulatory and financial reporting for Greenwich Capital Markets, Inc., and as auditor-in-charge of diversified business and operational areas at Salomon Brothers, CIGNA Corporation and Coopers & Lybrand. Ms. Eng is a Certified Public Accountant. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters degree in Business Administration from New York University. Ms. Eng speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.


Fiona Yung is responsible for investor relations as well as review of new investment opportunities. Previously, she served as Vice President of Lotus Capital Management, the investment manager for the Lotus China Funds in Shanghai. Prior to that, Ms. Yung was responsible for investment and market analysis based in Cathay’s U.S. office. Ms. Yung received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University and a Masters degree in International Affairs from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.


Ryan Liu is responsible for analyzing new investment opportunities, market research and monitoring of existing portfolio companies. Previously, Mr. Liu served as Vice President of China First Capital, Ltd. Prior to that, Mr. Liu served as manager in the R&D and business development at Alcatel (now Alcatel-Lucent) and as a marketing manager at a high tech start-up TimiTech, which developed Chinese mobile TV standard (CMMB), the key technology for mobile TV service during Beijing Olympics 2008. Mr. Liu received a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering Degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, and a Masters degree in Business Administration from UCLA Anderson Business School. Mr. Liu speaks Mandarin.


Xiaodan Cong is responsible for investment and market analysis as well as fund administration. Ms. Cong received a Bachelor of Management degree from Dalian Maritime University and a Master of Science degree from Columbia University. Ms. Cong speaks Mandarin.



S. Donald Sussman Director. Mr. Sussman is a founder of Cathay and has served as a Director of the Cathay Investment Fund since inception. Mr. Sussman is the Founder and Chairman of Paloma Partners, a US$1.5 billion private investment firm. In 1995, Mr. Sussman established the Sussman Center for Chinese Antiquities at the Capital Museum of Beijing. The funds provided by Mr. Sussman enabled the Museum to construct and fund the ongoing operation of China's leading facility dedicated to the preservation of Chinese bronzes, porcelain, paintings, and other cultural artifacts. Mr. Sussman attended Columbia College and earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from New York University.
