China Yuchai International Ltd. ("China Yuchai") holds a controlling interest in Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Company, Limited, one of China’s leading independent manufacturers and distributors of branded diesel engines. Yuchai supplies medium duty diesel engines to five and seven ton trucks as well as heavy duty engines used in buses and tractor-trailers. Cathay acquired its interest in Yuchai in 1993 as part of a consortium of foreign investors.
